What is Geothermal Energy?
The term “geothermal“ comes from the Greek and means heat from the earth. Geothermal energy is the energy stored in the form of heat beneath the surface of the solid earth. To the extent that it can be extracted and exploited it is regarded as one of the renewable energy sources. The heat content of the earth would cover the world‘s present energy needs for 30 million years. On a human
scale then energy reserves stored in the earth are just as inexhaustible as those of the sun.
